Here is my story: I tried to donate in my 20’s, but could never get over 109 lbs. Then in FL, they had the capability to take 1/2 pt. I donated for many years until I was 50 and survived a serious wreck and had an aortic patch on my heart. They used someone’s blood to start the heart lung machine. I did not realize this until years later when talking to someone at Medic. I was unable to donate for 10 years after that. Now 67, I donate platelets 24 times a year and am an avid supporter of MEDIC.

So my story is truly a “give and you shall receive, to be able to give again” story. In more ways than one.

PS the folks at Farragut MEDIC are just great, and I am always treated as Special.
