My twins were born 10 weeks premature in 1989. One was fairly healthy and just needed to gain weight. The other one was very sick and required several blood transfusions to live. I had been a donor since I was in high school, but after blood donors saved my child’s life, it became very personal for me. I am a regular donor, every 56 days. I hope to give someone else the gift of life that was given to me 20 years ago.
