OMG

My first time to donate was my first time volunteering with the American Red Cross. I did my hours canvassing for donors at the local, beautiful, and very large FireWheel Mall in Garland, Texas. When we were wrapping up for the day, the volunteers got to give then if the wanted to. Of course, I wanted to, and, of course, I was nervous. I did my interview process, jumped into the chair, and waited as the nurse kept moving the needle to get my blood to flow. FINALLY, success, and then all of a sudden I felt funny and I didn’t want to pass out, but I heard the nurse asking me if I was ok…The next thing I know I have a cold, wet washcloth on my forehead as I’m in a reclining position. Someone hands me a juice in a pouch, so when I raise my head to drink, the wet cloth falls and I put the juice pouch between my legs to hold it….NEEDLESS to say, when I walk out, I have the ash color of a fainter and a great BIG WET spot between my legs, from the juice pouch. It looks like I wet myself too! I am waiting to donate again! Hopefully I’ll be fine!
