I am a 40-year-old female and ever since I was old enough to donate blood, I have donated. I have O-RH type blood. I am very proud to be able to help when it is such an easy gift to give and be able to give over and over again. It helps out so many families including myself. I have had to go through 59 knee surgeries and 4 knee replacements. During one of those surgeries, I lost a lot of blood and had to have 3 blood transfusions. I got a staph infection in my left leg and I ended up loosing my left knee all together. Though I will never be able to bend my leg ever again, and I lost an inch and a half in length to my left leg, the blood that was donated saved my life. If people hadn’t donated their blood, I would not be here today. So please take thirty minutes out of your lives and donate. It is so easy and it will save so many lives. Our brothers, sisters, moms, dads, aunts, uncles and so many more, are out there fighting for our country. That blood will save more lives than you can imagine and touch so many families in a lot of ways. So I would like to say thank you, and God Bless you, for taking the time in your life to save mine by donating your blood.
