My family has been donating blolod together on the first Saturday after New Year’s Day for over 30 years. We were honored to be one of the Red Cross’ national posters in 1980 and inspire many people to donate by our example. We all know to leave the date open and bring all generations of the family to donate and then go out to a meal together. The babies and toddlers might not know what is going on, but by the time they are 4 or 5, they know they will be joining us at a later date!
