In December of 2002, I gave birth to a healthy 7.5 lbs. baby girl. However, after delivery, the placenta did not detach and I hemoraged. I had to have two bags of blood because my red blood cell count was a 6 and I almost died with my BP 60/30. A few days after I was able to go home, I hemoraged again and had to be rushed to the hospital. I had two more bags of blood and my red blood cell count was an 8. After a week in the hospital I was able to go home and be a mom! If it were not for the donation of blood, I would not be here today! Thank you!
