I was a Reciever and now a Donor!

It was June 19th, 2008 when the day came that I needed 6 pints of blood. My husband and I were expecting our second child, when that time ran a little short. I was 10 weeks along and did not know I was having an atopic pregnancy. I had come to the fact of loosing our baby that day, just as long as God would save my life to be there for the one son we do have.

The doctor came into the room to prepare my husband that there was a chance that I was not going to make it. He was blamming himself for everything. He had already lost the true love of his life, His Mom, as a young child, and now the thought of losing his one and only was unbearable. I was bleeding inside so much they ended up doing surgery to stop it. At that time, I had already recieved 2 pints of blood. After surgery I was in the hospital for about a week and recieved 4 more pints.

They ended up taking one of my tubes, which would make it much harder to concieve again. About 7 months later, we found out we were pregnant again with our now 14-month-old, heathly boy, Preston. If it was not for all the donors that give on a regular basis, I would not have had a chance.

I was so excited on June 12th, 2010, almost 2 years later, I am now giving blood. It was the best feeling Ive had in a long time. I hope I can save someone’s life as they did mine.

My many “Thanks” to ALL our committed for life donors!!
