It’s funny, I remember as a kid, hanging out in the canteen eating snacks while my mom was donating blood. I never really thought much about it, my mom donated blood all the time. So when I was out of college and had more of a regular routine to my life, I started donating regularly, too. I’m O-Neg, so of course they love me and always want me to donate, but I never really feel like a hero or that I’m doing anything that big and dramatic. It’s an easy thing to do and an easy way to help so I like to do it. But it really does all go back to my mom and the example she set, if I hadn’t been exposed to it as a child and basically grown up with it, I don’t know if I would think about doing it today.
